Happy Derby Day! Even though I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby, and I know virtually nothing about it, I’d like to ride the coat-tails of this pseudo holiday and take advantage of the opportunity to make some food that I may otherwise have never tried.
Kale Salad with Cashew Butter Vinaigrette
I think I would be a better person overall if I had more kale salads and fewer banana breads. I would probably be smarter, faster, funnier, and more exciting. We may never know.
Homemade Almond Butter (Or: When Husbands Grocery Shop)
As much as I love food (it’s my soulmate), and regardless of the fact that I’ll never have time to taste every recipe I’ll ever want to taste (sad but true), I have, nevertheless, eaten the exact same food for breakfast nearly every single day for approximately five years.
Ok, maybe it’s not the most photogenic food, but it’s my favorite thing. It’s my desert island food. It’s one half of an Ezekiel English muffin with freshly ground almond butter. Continue reading
Easy Sunday Night Fish Tacos
Ok, ok, one more. Let’s keep the streak alive and start May the right way. With fish tacos, that is.
Lemon Cranberry Scones with Lemon Glaze
Good Saturday morning! And happy final day of April – you can rest easy because tomorrow is the beginning of a new month, and I won’t be posting so obsessively. Today, instead of running our hometown half marathon as I should be doing, I am instead bringing you Lemon Cranberry Scones with Lemon Glaze. (Further evidence that I’m not a perfect decision maker.)
Quick Asian Style Sauteed Green Beans
Today I’m sharing another recipe that resulted from my venture into produce home-delivery. The delivery service that wonderfully dropped off fruits and vegetables at my front door is called Green BEAN Delivery, and true to their name, they did, in fact, bring me some green beans…
Lemon Blueberry Muffin Bread
I just wanted a lemon.
I found myself at the grocery store faced with limited options in the lemon department. It was either going to be one of those plastic squeeze lemons or a 2 lb. bag of lemons. I was feeling fast and loose, so I bought the 2 lb. bag.
Which brings us to the point – I’ve prepared more lemony things, including Lemon Blueberry Muffin Bread…
Lemon Garlic Roasted Broccoli
In an act of desperation and in a display of my addiction to accruing “visitors” and “views” on my secret food blog, I’ve decided to increase my end of April posting frequency in an attempt to see an increase in traffic compared to March. (How exciting for my five followers!) I’m not proud of this, but I can’t resist.
So, you lucky dogs, today that means I’m bringing you a recipe for Lemon-Garlic Roasted Broccoli.
Avocado Toast with Eggs
Everyone is making avocado toast these days. I wasn’t sure I wanted to get on the bandwagon until I tried it, but I’m so glad I did!
Joy the Baker’s Dark and Stormy Banana Bread
This week, I was faced with the age old question.
What should I do with these dramatically overripe bananas?
Well, would you look at that? Now that they’re sitting in a skillet with some butter, eggs, ginger, and rum, they look a little more promising. Continue reading
